Want to write?
We are looking for people who have a flair for writing, who are also Massachusetts-based:
- Musicians – any genre
- Radio hosts – traditional or internet radio
- Venue owners/booking agents
- Press – journalists, music reviewers
- Superfans – if you can write about why you love local music (rather than just one specific band/act)
Have a look through our blog posts – get a sense of what we are trying to accomplish. We want to be a positive force for the local music community. If you think you have something to offer – whether it’s advice, your own experience, or something else to share – contact us at birchbeerrecords@gmail.com.
Want to comment?
Yes please! We definitely want a lively discussion on our blog. Please refrain from irrelevant spamming, gratuitous self-advertising, blatant flaming, and off-color language…our site is meant to be family-friendly. Share your opinions constructively please!

Local music and art is the best! There’s a ton to explore and enjoy at the open mics and local galleries.
How about adding video to your blog? I go to many local (mostly blues) concerts (Western Mass) and could help supply some video.

I am the producer / director of a FREE music series broadcast on local access TV in the Wareham/ Marion area. The show also streams live the same night on http://www.warehamtv.org. The live show is Wednesday nights from the Onset VFW at 8. The show gets rebroadcast Saturday at 10. It is also available On Demand at http://www.feelthemusic.us. We want the TV and internet audience but really want those that can to come down and see the shows live. We will over the 20 weeks the show will run virtually every genre of music except hardcore extreme, hip hop and rap. All currant shows are booked but looking for the spring and summer I will be needing interested acts to apply.
Hello,
My husband and I are producing two renaissance festivals in MA to promote two different causes.
The first one will be in June called Winslowshire Festival for the Animals, a Renaissance Festival to benefit the Winslow Farm Animal Sanctuary in Norton, MA. Take a step back in time that has music, magic, art, theatre and much more! Dates for this event will be June 25th and 26th of 2011. For more information, please visit our website at http://www.winslowshire.com
The second one is a fresh new Renaissance Festival to benefit the amazingly beautiful Hammond Castle in Gloucester, MA. This festival is called Abbadia Mare Renaissance Festival (the original name of the Castle). Take a step back in time and enjoy live music, human chess match and more while seeing the amazing views of Hammond Castle. Dates for this festival are July 23rd and 24th of 2011. For more information, please visit our website at http://www.abbadiamarefestival.com
If you need a writer, I’m always looking to do more blogs, just let me know via e mail.
Thanks
